In this article, we take a look at the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, based on statistics from their 2017/2018 season. David De Gea Manchester United hasn’t been faring well at all recently, but De Gea is arguably one of the best English Premier League goalkeepers in the world. He was awarded the Player of the Year award earlier this year, making him the only United player so far to win it four times. With a total of 241 appearances, he has 657 saves under his belt, and 94 clean sheets, and only six errors that resulted in goals. Based on his 2017/2018 season, he had an 81.2% save rate, 95 saves, and 15 clean sheets.

Nick Pope

Burnley's Pope is undoubtedly a talented football player, and an exceptional goalkeeper. He replaced Tom Heaton last year, and with just 26 appearances he managed to save 85 goals, resulting in a save percentage of 79.4%. The former Charlton goalkeeper also led nine clean sheets during his season.

Allison Becker

Becker was the talk of the town when Liverpool signed the Former Roma keeper for £67m, making him one of the most expensive keepers in the world. Jurgen Klopp, being the tactical, strategy-oriented manager that he is, wouldn’t just dish out such a large amount of money on just anyone. Based on data collected by OPTA, taking a look at his 2017/2018 Serie A performance with Roma, out of the 37 games he played, Becker reportedly had a 79% save rate, and successfully defended 109 goals and 17 clean sheets. He also made no errors that resulted in goals. The Brazilian earned his place with The Reds.

Lukasz Fabianski

Out if the 38 Premier League games the Polish International played last season, he saved around 107 goals, leaving him with a 70% save rate and eight clean sheets. He is a formidable goalie, and while Swansea City by far isn’t the best team in the league this time around, they will owe a lot of their success to Fabianski.

Hugo Lloris

The French goalie captained his national team towards victory this World Cup, which took place in Russia earlier this year. His performance with The Spurs has also been pretty impressive. With 36 appearances, Lloris secured a save percentage of 70.1, with 86 saves, and five errors leading to goals.

Ederson Moraes

Man City have been tipped to win this season, and Moraes will play an imperative role in this feat if it should happen. His performance last Premier League was notable, as was his stats coming out of the league. With a total of 36 appearances, the former Benfica goalkeeper maintained a total of 16 clean sheets and a 68.29% save percentage, Ederson Moraes is without a doubt a player you should look out for this season.
